Shimla: CBI-designated district and sessions judge, Shimla, BR Chandel, today ordered five-day police remand for Captain Vikalp Purohit of the General Reserve Engineer Force, a wing of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), who was caught red-handed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently for trying to sell diesel meant for the Army.

SP, CBI, R Upasak told media persons that the officer was trapped by two decoy customers, who presented themselves as contractors of the state public works department. They entered into negotiations with Purohit and he was ready to sell 800 litres of diesel to them. The army officer was arrested by CBI on Tuesday after the court declined to extend his anticipatory bail.
