Parents meet on special children at Shimla

Shimla: Udaan, a Shimla-based NGO working for welfare of special children, will be organising a two-day Regional Parents’ Meet on ‘Together in the Community: Inclusion and Advocacy’ on September 3 and 4 in Shimla, in which at least 75 delegates of 40 parents’ associations of challenged children from eight northern states are participating.

According to NGO’s secretary RS Rana, the meet is being organised with the help of PARIVAAR-National Federation of Parents’ Associations and National Institute of Mentally Handicapped, Secundrabad (AP). JP Gadkari, president, PARIVAAR, will preside over the meet. Udaan is also celebrating its 9th Founders’ Day on September 4 evening.
