Paonta Sahib experiences record 222 mm rain



Shimla: Paonta Sahib sub-division of Sirmaur district received record 222 mm rainfall as torrential rainfall hit the state during last 24 hours, disrupting many roads in the district. Report received here said that Nahan-Haripurdhar via Renuka, Nahan-Kolawala via Shananwalla, Paonta Sahib-Shialli road and Nahan-Bhwarnehar roads have been damaged due to heavy rainfall.

District headquarter Nahan had 100 mm rainfall, Renuka 57 mm, Sangrah and Jubbal of Shimla 40 mm each, Kandaghat in Solan 31 mm and Dharamsala 15 mm. The minimum temperature in Shimla was 15.6 degree Celsius, Sundernagar 21.6 degrees, Bhuntar 18.8 degrees, Kalpa 10.2 degrees, Dharamsala 18.5 degrees, Una 22.8 degrees, Mandi 21.5 degrees, Nahan 17.9 degrees, Keylong 11.9 degrees Palampur 18.8 degrees and Solan 17.8 degrees.

Met Office said that rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at few places in the state during next 24 hours.
