Shimla: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) Himachal unit has asked the education department to declare at least 7 days of holidays in all schools in the state so that the students are not thrown to risk because of incessant rains.

In a letter written to secretary, education, Shrikant Baldi, the party has mentioned that widespread damage has been caused to roads due to incessant rains and students have been the worst victims. The letter states that due to road-blocks, students often get trapped while on their way to school in different parts of the state.
