Manali-Keylong road restored

Shimla: Moderate to heavy rainfall occurred at many part of state today, disrupting normal life. While vehicular traffic on the Manali-Keylong road was restored today after remaining closed for last two days, Border Road Organisation superintendent engineer SK Doon told HimVani that flashflood-hit Leh road too was likely to be clear by evening.

Meanwhile, air traffic to the state also resumed as Dehli-Shimla, Dehli-Kullu and Delhi-Dharamsala flight operated normally today.  However, power production at the 1500MW  Nathpa Jakhri hydroelectric project could not be restored even on the ninth day. Deputy general manager of Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited, Vijay Kumar Verma, said that silt level was still at 9,000 parts per million level, which was quite above the permissible limit of 4.000 ppm.
