Nahan: After drawing flake in all three matches of Santosh Trophy held in Kolkata recently, the team management of Himachal Pradesh Football Federation appears to have learnt some lessons as its president Sanjeev Katwal has now at least released the new sports calendar for each districts.
In a statement released here today, Katwal directed all district football associations to organize inter-school under-14 competitions before August 20 next. Stressing the need to form a strong state football team, he said that it required talent hunt among budding new juniors players, who could only be selected from local competitions.
Katwal said that a state-level championship would be organized to further select the state team to participate in national football championships. It is worth mentioning here that Himachal Pradesh faced a humiliating 10-0 defeat at the hands of Assam in Santosh trophy football championship and then 40 by Uttarakhand 4-0.
