Dawni coming up as new industrial area

Shimla: Despite lifting of tax exemption given to the state, the Himachal Pradesh government claims to have accelerated industrialization with more than 3,157 units being registered in the state, attracted investment of Rs 12,585 crore in the last two-and-a-half years.

Claiming landmark achievement in the industrial sector, state industry minister Kishan Kapoor said in a statement that a new industrial area was being developed at Dawni near Baddi in Solan, for which land had already been acquired. He said that 68 plots had also been developed at the site for setting up of various industrial units by the State Industrial Development Corporation and added that out of which 60 plots had been alloted to the interested investors and the entrepreneurs were also setting up their units in the alloted plots.

Kapoor said that the process to transfer the acquired land by the Government at Davni to the State Industrial Development Corporation was in final stage on which plots would be developed and alloted soon to the entrepreneurs. The minister said that plots were being alloted to the investors as per their requirements so that small and large industrial units could be set up by them.
