Hamirpur: The Himachal Pradesh government has roped in few industrial units in the state to help control forest fires. Under the project, the industries will be buying pine leaves collected by villagers from forests. The farmers would be paid on the spot for whatever they bring to the factories. Ambuja Cement has been roped in for Hamirpur district while in Bilaspur ACC would be buying the collected leaves. The government has also banned burning of these leaves during summers, and instructions have also been given for proper extraction of pine resin.
A very good idea, use the pine leaves as fuel for the industry and save jungles from devastating fires.
Not only this, it helps saving our natural resources which are fast diminishing.
