Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Cabinet in its meeting held here today decided to convene monsoon session of the legislative Assembly from August 17 to 23.
Presiding over the meeting, Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal decided to introduce ‘Chief Minister’s Rain Water Harvesting Award’ with a view to motivate non-governmental organizations (NGOs)/ gram panchayats/ urban local bodies/ institutions/corporate sector and Individuals to actively involve themselves in adoption innovative practices for ground water recharge programme.
The government also approved the revised bid document and notice inviting proposals (NIP)for hydro electric projects above 5 MW. It was decided to advertise 18 hydro electric projects of above 5 MW capacity having total installed capacity of 1,357.5 MW.
The government granted permission to the concerned authority for signing of memorandum of understanding (MOU) with government of India and NABARD in respect of Short Term Rural Cooperative Credit Structure with a view to revive and rehabilitate Short Term Rural Cooperative Credit Structure (STCCS) by providing one time financial assistance, based on eligibility criteria laid down in the package, ensure institutional, legal and regulatory reforms to minimize state control and allow more functional autonomy to STCCS.
