Symposium on electrical reforms and solar power generation

Shimla: The Centre of Excellence in Energy & Environment, National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur, is organising a symposium on ‘Policy Issue on Electricity Reforms and Solar Power Generation in Himachal Pradesh’ tomorrow at Hotel Holiday Home, Shimla, in collaboration with University of Technology, Sydney, InvVest, USA, HP State Electricity Board, HP Power Corporation, SJVN, Tata-BP Solar, Himurja & Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources, Government of India.

The symposium assumes importance in view of the National Solar Mission launched by the government of India, which targets to produce 20,000 MW of Solar power by 2022.

Representatives from HP government, HPSEB, HP Electricity Regulatory Commission, HP Power Corporation, Himurja, Hydro-power and Solar Industry, scientific and technical institutions, will participate in the Symposium.
