Manali-Leh road reopens

Shimla: The Manali-Leh highway has been reopened for vehicular traffic after remaining closed for last five days, whereas the monsoon remained dormant in the entire state during the last 48 hours.

According to state meteorological officer Manmohan Singh, there was no report of rainfall from anywhere in the state. He said that rainfall is likely to occur at few places in the middle and upper hills of the state but dry weather would continue in the foothills in next 24 hours. A report from Manali said that traffic has been running normally over Rohtang pass since this morning.

  1. Thank God at last this road is open but the money and labour remitted on the task is not par with the number of days for which is remains open. People use to say that traffic roll on this road only in between June to October
