Himachal experiences monsoon showers

Shimla: The Monsoon showers lashed many part of the state as south west monsoon remain active with western disturbances creating inclement weather conditions in the state for last 24 hours.

Meanwhile harvested peas crop in tribal districts are rotting in the fields as most of link roads remained blocked in the district.

Former Block Development Committee member from Tandi in Lahaul-Spiti district Hari Ram Thakur lamented that harvested crop of Peas is rotting in the field as farmers could not bring it to the markets due to frequent blockade of road at Pagalnalah on Udaipur-Keylong road.

He said the farmers of Mandgrana, Tindi, Sayghrat, Sidupul and Killar villages are not able to bring the peas crop to the market where it is fetching Rs 30 to 40 per kg in whole sale price.

The monsoon after remaining weak for last four days once again became active as it caused light to moderate rain or showers at many places, met office sources said here.

Nainadevi in Bilaspur recorded 25 mm rain, Nalagarh in Solan 18 mm, Solan town 3 mm and Kasauli 7 mm.

In Mandi district Sandhol received 11 mm, Pachhad 8 mm, Baldwara 5 mm, Mandi town 3 mm of rains.

Dharamshala reeived 18mm and Nahan in Sirmour 9 mm rainfall.

The Met office predicted rain or thundershowers were likely to occur at many place during the next 24 hours in the state.
