1,000-crore investment proposals received: Kapoor

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government today claimed to have received investment proposal of around 1,000 crores from reputed industrial houses of the country during an investment meet presided over by industry minister Kishan Kapoor at Himachal Bhawan in New Delhi.

Kapoor said in a statement issued here that besides these investment proposals, M/S Mahindra Pharma Group has shown keenness to set up a special economic zone (SEZ) in pharma sector in the state and added that investment proposals in the field of solar power sector, electronics units, mineral water plants, food parks, and photo film sector have been received.

He told that the government will take decisions on all the proposals in a time-bound manner and will also ensure the investment proposals are materialised so as to create employment opportunities besides generate economic activities in the state. He assured industrialist that he will visit all industrial areas of the state in near future and will hold detailed discussions regarding industrialisation and all related issues so as to have wider understanding of various issues.

He said that the government would involve PPP mode in various issues like street-lighting, collection of solid waste and upkeep of industrial areas of the state and sought the help of industrial associations and chambers to evolve consensus among themselves to partner with the government.
