Shimla: As incessant rains gave some respite after three continuous wet days, air, rail and land transport network in Himachal Pradesh was restored today (Thursday). However, thick clouds engulfed the state after overnight clear weather.
Reports received here from Jubberhatti and Bhuntar airports said that Delhi-Shimla and Delhi-Kullu flights resumed after remaining suspended for three days. Similarly, Janshatabdi running on the Delhi-Una rail route was restored after remaining off the tracks for one day.
The Hindustan-Tibet highway that remained blocked for vehicular traffic for last three days, opened last evening as HRTC buses started plying between Shimla and Recong-Peo. However, the 475-km-long Manali-Leh road remained disrupted for the third day today. District information officer Shair Singh said that light vehicles were plying between Keylong and Leh. Other major road linking Keylong with Udaipur and Kaza were still to be reopened for traffic. The recently launched tri-weekly Manali-Leh luxury bus service also got disrupted, and is likely to resume its normal routine scheduled by tomorrow, he added.
