Nahan: Rural areas of Sirmaur district are in the grips of diarrhoea as more than 20 persons were admitted to Sangrah health centre and referral hospital at Dadahu last evening.

Chief Medical Officer, Sirmaur, Dr MK Pathak said that doctors and other staff have been sent to provide health services to control diarrhoea immediately.
Residents claimed that patients are also getting treatment from private doctors as no doctor is available at Sangrah presently. “One doctor comes to Sangrah on deputation, that too rarely, and patients are being treated by para-medical staff,” a villager claimed.

Residents further alleged that epidemic could spread in area and the health department has been doing nothing to control the situation. They added that Sangarh health centre has 25 sanctioned posts, out of which 20 are lying vacant.
