Gaiety Theatre complex open for visitors

Shimla: The Gaiety Theatre Heritage Complex in Shimla will now be open for tourists and visitors through guided tours. This was disclosed by Prem Sharma, director, language, art and culture department, here today.

He said that both Indian and foreign tourists would have access to the 122-year-old Victorian gothic edifice, symbolizing grandeur of British colonial period. The entry fee, with and without camera will be Rs.10/- and Rs. 25/- respectively for Indian nationals and similarly Rs. 25/- and Rs. 50/- for foreign visitors with and without camera, said Sharma. An art gallery of Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, presently housed in the first floor of Gaiety is also open for visitors.
