Chamba: Seven persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries when a pick-up jeep carrying them plunged down into a deep gorge on the Chamba-Bharmour road, 5 km from here this morning.
SP Chamba Madhu Sudan told HimVani that the ill-fated jeep, carrying about 17 persons, after returning from Bani-mata shrine, went down into a deep gorge killing seven persons on the spot and injuring 10 others, four of then seriously. The injured were brought to Zonal Hospital in Chamba. The deceased are yet to be identified and include four women and two children. The reason for the accident is yet to be ascertained.
