Govt warns agitating JBT trainees to resume training

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh government has warned the agitating JBT trainees to resume training at their respective DIET (District Institution of Education Training) centre, failing which strict disciplinary action could be taken against them. About 2,500 JBT trainees are protesting in the state demanding indemnity bonds for assuring regular jobs after the completion of training as many of them are sitting on fast unto death in eight districts.

A spokesperson of the state government has advised the agitating JBT trainees to join their training by June 10, 2010, failing which the government “will have no option but to take stern action against them”. He clarified that there was no condition of filling up the bond by JBT trainees of 2008-2010 batch to seek regular appointment in government sector as per the notification issued on June 21, 2008. He said that as per notification issued and given to all DIET institutions it was mentioned clearly that imparting of training to the JBT trainees would not be any guarantee of giving regular government job.
