NIRMAND: Hundreds of people belonging to village Kasoli and Tunan, falling under Nirmand tehsil, forced the Public Works Department to stop work on a road being constructed through these villages. Villagers alleged that the department had carried out surveys in a different area and the road was being built somewhere else to benefit another village. They also alleged that the department had not taken no-objection certificate from the forest department. This is the second such allegation against PWD within a month; earlier the department was made to stop work on a road being constructed through forest land in Kullu district without permission from the forest department.
