Shimla: Plant management and generation efficiency has helped SJVN’s 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station to exceed generation targets in the current financial year.
Vijay Kumar Verma, deputy manger, publicity, SJNV, said in a statement issued here today that against a target of 1,440 million units given by the ministry of power, the power station has generated 1,618 million units up to 7th June, 2010, which is not only a record for the power plant but also 282 million units more than the corresponding period in 2009-10.
After the record 7,018 million units of power generation during the year 2009-10 against a target 6,600 million units, the country’s largest hydro power station continues to excel its targets during the current financial year. The 1,500-MW power station, which is the flagship project of public sector SJVN Ltd, has also achieved a plant availability factor of more than 100 per cent during the period.
