Dharamsala: Former transport and tourism minister and sitting MLA from Nagrota Bagwan GS Bali today Lambasted the state government for its “adamant attitude”, which, he claimed, had resulted in unrest among different sections of the society forcing them to resort to agitations, protests and indefinite fasts.
Addressing a press conference at his residence at Kangra, he said that it was a matter of pain and agony that unrest was prevailing in a peaceful state like Himachal Pradesh because of the ‘unbecoming, unfair and adamant’ attitude of the Dhumal government towards the genuine problems of the people, particularly of the unemployed youths.
Bali said that JBT teachers, anganwari workers, HRTC drivers and conductors, retired HRTC employees and medical officers were all up in arms against the government because there was none to hear their genuine grievances and redress them. He said that it was for the first time in the history of the state that youths were fasting unto death and the Govt. was a mute spectator to this painful situation. He ridiculed the government for resorting to lathicharge on peaceful JBT trainees, instead of redressing their genuine problems.
He said that Congress as an opposition party cannot remain silent spectator for too long over the alleged wrongdoings of the government and threatened that Congress would be forced to come to the streets to get the issues of people sorted out.
