Hamirpur: As per the orders of the Election Commission of India, the identification for photo identity cards of the electors in Hamirpur district would be done from June 14 to 23. This was stated here today by DC Abhishek Jain.
Jain said that the main aim of the administration was to provide photo identity cards to all the eligible electors of the district. A cut of date of January 1, 2010 had been fixed for enrolment of new persons as voters in the district. The DC appealed to the people of the district to cooperate with the staff so that no one remained without the photo identity cards. It’s worthy mentioning here that such cards are essential while casting votes in any elections being conducted by the state government or the Election Commission of India.
