Shimla: About 1800 JBT (Junior Basic Teacher) trainee today went on state-wide strike demanding regular appointment after completion of training. There are reports from all over the state that JBT trainees sat on hunger strike outside their respective district DIET (District Institute of Educational and Training) offices. Agitating trainees are demanding regular posting after their training alleging that despite signing bond with them, the state government is giving them contractual or temporary postings, which is unacceptable to them.
