Shimla: Himachal Pradesh High Court yesterday stayed the notice from Himachal Pradesh Pollution Control Board issued to Wildflower Hall hotel for violating pollution norms. A division bench comprising Justice RB Mishra and Justice VK Ahuja stayed the notice directing the state and HPPCB to submit reply within 4 weeks.

Seeking stay over Board notice, Mashobra Resort Company, that runs the hotel, pleaded before the high court that it has a proper functional sewerage treatment plant. The hotel chain alleged that the Board had failed to issue 15-day notice required under the Act.

Recently HPPCB had issued a notice to the leading hotel unit for allegedly discharging sewerage into a natural drain in the forest adjoining the hotel, which was contaminating drinking water sources of more than 12 villages located in the hotel vicinity.
