Shimla: A two-day state committee meeting of CPIM started today in Shimla. The party committee will discuss the political report of the state during the meeting and would chalk out a strategy to “fight the onslaught of the BJP government on the people”. A Vijay Raghwan (MP), in-charge of Himachal, would place the all India political report.

The CPIM has stated that there is deep crisis in the peasantry and the government is shying from its responsibility of subsidizing agriculture, instead it is coercing the peasant agriculture to corporate farming. The issue of TD rights and the government’s TD policy would also be taken up. Similarly the policy of leasing out forests to “forest mafia and big companies” would also be debated threadbare and an action plan would be chalked out.
