Shimla: Three pilgrims – two women and a child – were killed as a vehicle carrying them plunged into a deep gorge near Chatri in Mandi district last evening, police source said. A Tata-Sumo carrying pilgrim to the famous shrine of Shikari Devi developed a technical snag mid-way and the deriver asked the pilgrims, except the three, to get down while ascending a steep stretch of road. The vehicle while climbing up suddenly rolled back and fell into a gorge, killing the three pilgrims and injuring the deriver. The deceased were identified as Krishna Devi (33) her two-year-old son Varun and Sumitra Devi (28).
