Shimla: Locals staged a protest against the mysterious death of an employee working at Sawra Kudu hydro-power project, who was allegedly crashed by an earthmover early this morning at an under-construction tunnel in Jubbal.

Police source said that the employee Rakesh (26), who worked as a supervisor, received multiple injuries and was declared brought dead at Zonal Hospital, Rohru. People from deceased’s Jalta village gathered at the construction site, protesting against K.S.R. Company engaged in the work. Villagers alleged that the company initially refused to own the deceased as its employee and when local people started shouting slogan and cordoned the project site, officials changed their statement by saying that the employee belonged to their company but he was not on work when the accident occurred. The relative of the deceased also charged that the body had some bruises but there were no signs of being crashed under an earthmover.
