SHIMLA: Bhagwandev Chaitanya, Tejram Sharma, SR Harnot, Shastri Loknath, KR Bharti and Badri Singh Bhatia are among the recipients of Himachal Arts and Culture Academy awards for the period, 2003 to 2006. The awards are given to Himachali writers for their achievements in the field of creative writing in the last three years.
Chaitanya has been awarded for his Pahari short story collection “Ucchi Dharan Ree Dhoopan.” In the Hindi section, Tej Ram Sharma has been awarded for his poetry collection “Bhandanbar”, while SR Harnot has been chosen for his short story collection “Daroosh and other stories”. Shastri Loknath Mishr has been awarded for his work “Satluj Ghati Ki Sanskritik Prashtbhoomi.” Mohan Sahil has been chosen for his Hindi creation “Ek Din Toot Jayaga Pahar” for the year 2004. In the English section, KR Bharti has been awarded for his book, “Chamba Himalaya – Amasing land and Unique Culture, while in the Hindi section BS Bhatia has been chosen for his short story collection “Kavach”.
