Biotech expert urges states to go GM-free

Shimla: Dr Pushpa Mittra Bhargava, popularly called father biotechnology in India, and founder director of the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology, strongly advocated all states, including Himachal, to be kept free of genetically-modified crops of all sorts till their safety was proven without any doubts. Dr Bhargava was attending an interactive session organized under the aegis of National Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture (NASA) and attended by a number of civil society groups and concerned individuals at the Press Club in Shimla today.
