Shimla: Girls once again proved that they are better than boys in studies by attaining 13 out of the 15 merit positions in the results for class X examinations of Himachal Pradesh School Education Board, declared today. Rishika of Grace Public Senior Secondary School, Barchhabar in Mandi district, topped the list with 674/700 marks. The second and third positions were bagged by Sunidhi (673/700) and Neha (672/700) of Government Senior Secondary School, Bharwain, in Una district.
Prabhat Sharma, secretary, school education board, told reporters that in all as many as 1,34,025 students appeared in the examination, out of which there were 70,804 boys and 63,224 girls. The pass percentage this time has been 63.41%. He said that 24,123 students were placed under compartment.
Sharma said that fifteen boys and girls shared honors for the first ten positions. Hamirpur got seven positions. Mandi three, Una and Bilaspur two each and one went to Kangra district.
