Solan: In yet another incident of clash between civilians and Air Force officials, five pilots have been booked for allegedly beating local residents and creating ruckus at Kasuali Cantonment area. Local police registered a case under sections 325, 323, 341 and 34 of IPC against the pilots working at Chandigarh Air Force station. These pilots were staying in a guest house belonging to Military Hospital, Kasauli. Police said, all booked pilots were badly drunken and were using abusive language.

Air Force officers involved in the incident were identified as Vikas Ramola, Ravi Nanda, Rajnish Chand Katoch, Adipt Patni. Identity of the fifth officer involved in the incident was not revealed. DSP Narvir Singh Rathore confirmed the case against the pilots. The incident happened on Saturday late night at around 11 pm when these pilots tried to forcibly enter a local hotel for drinks. It is learnt that when the hotel manager, Usman Khan, informed the pilots that they had no restaurant for non-hotel residents, the pilots threatened him and started shouting abusive language on the road-side. Following this, some local people reached the site and tried to pacify the pilots. It has been alleged that the pilots started beating one Ajmer Singh, a local cable operator, who lost seven teeth in the incident. He complained to the police that he was hit by an iron rod.

It may be noted that this is not the first case of clash between Air Force officials and locals, but locals complain that officials get away due to cantonment laws being applicable in the area.

  1. just a bunch of crap
the locals dont know how to behave
the guys went there ony looking for food
the owner tried to misbehave with the wife of one of the officers
they resisted and tried to walk of when a mob of fifty lynched them .
the teeth of the local were broken by there own guys when some one in the mob accidentally hit him
the civil society doesnt seem to be civil at all
the irony is that while these guys will be facing a departmental enquiry the civillin goons who threatened these guys with life (one of them wielded pistol and sharp edged weapon ) will be let scott free
sadly enough no clarification of any sort has been issued by the defence which is why the case seems so demoniac against the air force officials
the indian armed forces are highly disciplined and this has been proved time and again
lets not assume things just because no one cared to bring out the facts and because facts would probably not be spicy enough for the media to sell
… rules are definitely not equal to all
the are harsher to the defence officials
the civil guy would be roaming free, but rest assured the defence would investigate the case and definitely punish the guilty even if its their own guys
… if rules were same for all the news would have been different ..very different from what has been projected
