Shimla: The high mountain ranges of Kinnaur district in Himachal Pradesh experienced another spell of snowfall whereas many low-lying areas of the state were lashed with rain or thundershowers along with light wind.
Reports arriving from Kinnaur said that Kinnar Kailash mountain ranges and Chitkul, the last villages of the district situated on the Indo-Tibet boarder received 30 cm thick layer of fresh snowfall whereas district headquarter Recong-Peo and Kalpa were lashed with heavy downpour.
Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts also had rain or thundershowers this noon. Normal life came to a standstill for hour as rain or thunderstorm forced people to leave their workplace. However, there is no report of snow or rain from Lahaul Spiti, Chamba and Kangra district of the state. Fresh inclement weather conditions prevailing in some parts of the state have given some respite to people from prolonged dry spell and soaring heat wave in the state.
