Shimla: Moderate to heavy rain showers lashed many parts of Himachal Pradesh during last 24 hours, giving some respite from the heat wave seeping the foothills of the state. Met office said that in Lahaul-Spiti district Udaipur registered 39 mm rain, Keylong 38 mm, while Solan received 33.5 mm, Seobagh in Kullu 27 mm, Saloni in Chamba 26 mm, Sangla in Kinnuar 23 mm, Kalpa 22 mm, Bhuntar 16.8 mm, Banjar 12 mm.
Clarifying on media reports, Met director Manmohan Singh told HimVani that there was no snowfall anywhere in the state as reported by local media yesterday.

Mild rain also also lashed the capital town, Sundernagar, Una, Mandi, Tissa, Mehre, Gohar, Jhungi, Rampur, Rohru , Dharamsala, Jhandutta, Kotkhai, Palampur and Kumarsen. Maximum temperature at Shimla was 27.8 degree Celsius, Sundernagar 36.9 degrees, Bhuntar 28.1 degrees, Kalpa 16.3 degrees, Dharamsala 33.2 degrees, Mandi 37.4 degrees, Nahan 36.3 degrees, Solan 33.6 degrees while Una was highest at 41 degrees. The Met office said that rain or thunder-showers were likely to occur at many places in the state during next 24 hours.
