Dharamsala: The Indian Premier League (IPL) match between the Kings XI Punjab and Deccan Chargers here got off to an unsavoury start as around 3,000 spectators created a furore and entered into a scuffle with the police personnel deployed on duty as a huge crowds descended at the stadium to watch the match.
The trouble arose when desperate spectators were reportedly angered by “unnecessary checks” by security personnel at various points and not allowing them to enter the stadium in time. The angry spectators almost broke down gate number 3. Spectators claimed that were not being allowed to enter the stadium in time. The spectators also raised slogans against the authorities.
Overall, the match proved a spectacular success with a jampacked stadium playing a perfect host to the first-ever IPL match in Himachal.
