DHARAMSHALA: The 12th International Himalayan Festival will be held at the Tibetan Institute of Performing Arts campus in McLeod Ganj from December 10 to12. The cultural programmes at the festival will be organised by the Dharamsala-based Indo-Tibetan Friendship Society. Groups from various Himalayan regions like Sikkim and Ladakh also join the local Tibetan, Indian and Nepalese artistes during the extravaganza.
The event is held to commemorate the day His Holiness The Dalai Lama received the Nobel Peace Prize, 17 years ago. This year the Dalai Lama is also being honoured with ‘White Lotus’, the highest award in Russian Republic of Kalmykia.
