Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Assembly was adjourned sine die by Speaker Tulsi Ram after a 26-day budget session here today, but all opposition members remained absent from the House at the ending note as they had already staged a walkout on an issue.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar thanked the Speaker, members of the Assembly, official of Vidhan Sabha and state government and the media for smooth functioning of the session. The Speaker also addressed members and shared his experiences during the session. He said that the session was successful, clearing many important issues, bills, motions and the budget. He said that the House discussed about 605 starred and 612 unstarred questions, whereas four private member bills also came for discussion and two of them were being approved by the assembly.
He said, in total 11 bills were introduced, discussed and approved by the House and one of them was sent to the select committee. He said the legislative committees presented as many as 28 account reports in the House. He said two government resolutions were also approved by the House and many minister also gave suo-motu statement in the House during the session.
