CWC member Asha Kumari manhandled by police

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and Senior Congress legislator from Dalhousie Assembly segment Ms Asha Kumari was slapped by a woman cop publicly while trying to enter Congress head office Rajeev Bhavan in Shimla today to attend the review meeting. Ms Asha Kumari reportedly tried to enter in the party office gate to attend Congress party and AICC president Rahul Gandhi’s election review meeting today.

The incident occurred when police were trying to manage the crowd stopping them to enter in the premises, however, in the spur of movement Asha Kumari could not show the entry pass as she was pushed back by the woman constables. Ms Asha Kumari was seen in the video later slapping the police cop, who also rebut in the same way after giving a slap on the face of Ms Kumari publicly. Former Social Justice and Women empowerment Minister Mr D R Shandil and former Industry Minister Mukesh Agnihotri were also on the spot when the incident occurred.

All others tried to calm down the scuffle between the two, however, after some time, the video of the scuffle went viral in the social media. Mr Rahul Gandhi who is A SPG protectee today arrived here at Jubberhati airport and the Himachal State police have deployed security to him and no one is allowed around Mr Gandhi without having entry pass.

Ms Asha Kumari, Mr Agnihotri and Mr Shandil had to wait outside the office for some time as they did not have entry pass for the review meeting. The incident reportedly happened due to misunderstanding, however, the State police is likely to take action against the cop for misbehaving with the senior legislators. Another post on the social media also showed that President of State Youth Congress and new member of the Assembly Mr Vikaramaditya Singh was not allowed by the SPG to enter in the Congress meeting.
