Gudiya gangrape case: Former SP DW Negi suspended following his arrest by CBI

Former Shimla police chief and SP D.W.Negi was suspended by the state police after he was arrested on Nov 16 by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the death of alleged accused Suraj belonged to Gudiya Gang Rape case. A spokesman of State police confirmed that Mr. Negi was suspended after he was arrested by the CBI today. Mr. Negi was on CBI remand until Nov 20 as he was arrested agency along with eight other Police officers and member of SIT.

Mr. Negi was taken to Delhi by the CBI and likely to be produced to court here tomorrow. Mr. Negi was SP Shimla when the Gudiya Gang rape case occurred on July 4. He was charged by the CBI for the filing of forged FIR on Rajinder alias Raju in connection with the death of Suraj who was killed in police custody in the intervening night of July 18 and 19.

CBI is now interrogating Mr. Negi to revealed that who killed Mr. Suraj and state police blamed the Raju who was in the police lockup. Mr. Negi and IG south range Z H Zaidi and seven other police officers were arrested by the CBI in connection with the alleged killing of Suraj in police lock up. The Sentry Dinesh Kumar told CBI that Suraj was not killed in the police lock-up and he was taken outside of police station on the night of the alleged crime. The 10 standard student was allegedly gang-raped and murder before his body was thrown in a dense forest between July 4 and July six.

Relative of Victims found the body in the jungle after the third day of the crime. State police which had lodged FIR in the case on July 6 arrested six people including two Nepalese two persons of Uttarakhand and two local. The CBI probe for last four month was not able to find any evidence against the arrested people despite one of accused was killed in police custody.
