SW Monsoon confines to few places of HP; IMD warns of heavy rainfall

The South West Monsoon system confined to few places of the State in the last 24 hours, however, the Indian Meteorological Department forecast heavy rainfall at parts of mid and foot hill in the next three days.

 

Rampurbushahar of Shimla got 41 mm rainfall, Berthin in Bilaspur 30 mm, Jubberhatti airport 28 mm, Rohru & Sarahan in Shimla 17 mm each, Bijahi of Mandi & Tissa of Chamba 11 mm each, Nahan of Sirmaur 9 mm, Saluni in Chamba 6 mm, Kotkhai & Jubbal of Shimla 5 mm each, Renuka of Sirmaur & Manali of Kullu 4 mm each, Bharmaur of Chamba, Sangdah & Paontasahib of Sirmaur 3 mm each respectively.

 

The day temperature plummeted in the State as Shimla town was recorded high at 21.6 degrees, Sundernagar 31.4 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 33 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur 24 degrees, Dharamshala in Kangra 27.8 degrees, Una 33.2 degrees, Nahan 29.6 degrees, Solan 27.2 degrees and Kangra 29 degrees respectively.

 

The Met office forecast rainfall at many places in mid, foothill and few places in the high reaches in the next 24 hours.
