Central University HP celebrates 6th annual day function ‘Uddan-2017’

    The Vice Chancellor of Central University Prof. Kuldip Chand Agnihotri invokes Pakistan revolutionary communist writer Sadat Hassan Manto to recall the misery of partition and emphasizing the  importance of securing the unity and integrity of the Nation. He was addressing the gathering on the 6th Annual day function ‘Uddan 2017’ at Shapur temporary CU campus in Kangra district today. He cited the short story ‘Toba Tek Singh’ by Sadat Hassan Manto to recall the misery of partition and emphasised the importance of securing the unity and integrity of the Nation.

     

    He also congratulated the students and faculty members who organised the programmes and the students who have won certificates in different sports & cultural activities. During the function Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. H R Sharma announced that the Central University has
    secured B++ grading from NAAC. He also pointed out that despite the limitations faced by it, the university has successfully bagged research projects worth 4 crore rupees.

     

    He also congratulated the present students who have cleared National Eligibility Test in the third semester itself. During ‘Uddan 2017’, several cultural programmes which are specific to the region like Punjabi Bhangra, Bharmori Nuala, Kulluvi Natti were performed by the students. More than 300 students who have won different prizes in sports and cultural competitions during the year were felicitated.
