Nahan: A two-day international conference on soft skills concluded today at the premises of Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions (HGPI) at Kala Amb in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh.
Apart from delegates from Kenya, Tanzania and Germany, more than 190 delegates from different prestigious educational institutions of the country took part in the conference. Inaugurating the international conference, educationist from Tanzania Dr Elisanate Gabriel said that soft skills were the demand of the day as these are a combination of skill tools which suits to society as well as commercial organisations. He said that the power of soft skills in knowledge transmission was underestimated since many years but the day has come when every one will have to be understand the relevance of the soft skills.
Educationist of Germany Dr Ajeet Sikand said that soft Skills are key to professional excellence and also added that success of an organization depends on standard qualification and skills of its employees. He further said that these days stress is laid on knowledge workers rather than skilled workers in which soft skills could play a significant role. Chairman of HGPI Rajneesh Bansal welcoming the delegates said that the main objective of the international conference was to bring academicians, researchers, consultants, officials of government as well as non-governmental organizations involved in imparting special skills including soft skills to the youth of the nation on a common platform to acquire professional excellence.
