Shimla: CBI probe conducted against Dr Ashwani Sood from Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) has found him guilty of serving at two different places at the same time while he was posted at Dr Rajender Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital, Tanda.
Health Minister Rajiv Bindal gave this written statement in the House today in a query raised by Randhir Sharma (Kot-Kahloor of BJP). CBI report attached to this statement said that a complaint had been received from Charanjit Singh, resident of Shanti Niwas, Dhalli, here alleging that Dr Sood, an examiner for LIC Shimla, was committing a fraud, forgery and manipulation of records to get monitory benefits by cheating the public in connivance with agents or officials of LIC by showing to have conducted medical examinations at Shimla while posted at RPGMC Tanda in Kangra.
Dr Sood was posted at RPGMC Kangra from Nov 11, 2005, to Feb 14, 2007, after which he was transferred to IGMC here. It has come to light during verification that while posted at RPGMC Kangra at Tanda, he showed to have conducted number of medical examinations for LIC at Shimla in between Nov 24 , 2005, and July 31, 2006. The CBI probe found Dr Sood guilty on account that he was not on leave from RPGMC Tanda on the dates he conducted medical examinations for LIC in Shimla.
After the probe, the facts were brought to the notice of competent authority for taking appropriate action against the faulty doctor.
