To promote games of cricket and VIVO IPL 2017, the Board of Cricket Control of India (BCCI) has decided to set Fan Parks at Historic Ice Skating Rink, Lakkar Bazar, Shimla on Apr 22 & 23. This was announced by the Project in-charage Amit Sidheshwer in a press conference held at Shimla today. He said that this would be 10th season of IPL and Fan park is to reactivate as it was launched in 2015 for the first time. The fan park first began in 16 cities in the Country now would be held in 36 towns in 21 states.
He said that it would bring the fans across the length and breadth closer to this beloved sports. He said that 14 new cities including Bhubaneswar, Bareilly, Kochi, Ludhiana, Tumkur and Nagercoil as wells Shimla and Shillong would also added to this passion for the cricket.
Each venue would broadcast all the actions of the IPL live on gaint TV screens, creating a stadium like feel for fans practically in their backyards. Entry would be free and furthermore there would be music and multiple stalls for merchandise, food, beverages and other activations by IPL”s official sponsors which would add to the electric atmosphere. Mr. Sidheshwer said that last season saw a massive turnout of 3 lakh cricket enthusiasts who experienced IPL live at the Fan Parks.
