The upper reaches of Himachal Pradesh got light to moderate spell of snowfall and downstream were lashed with rain showers at many places dipping down night and day temperature marginally. Reports arriving said that telecommunication and power services were partly disrupted in Lahaul Spiti district with triggering down of some avalanches and snowfall in the district.
District headquarter Keylong got one feet high snowfall in last 24 hours. The gateway to Lahaul Spiti, 13050 ft high Rohtang Pass got two to three feet high snowfall, other high reaches of tribal district got heavy snowfall as the power and telecommunication services remained paralysed in many villages of Lahaul and Spiti valley.
Udaipur in Lahaul got 12 centiemter fresh snowfall, Kalpa in Kinnuar 13 cm and Kadrala four cm, high reaches of Kinnaur, Chamba reported light to moderate snowfall. Tourist resort Manali, Shimla, Dalhousie and Kufri did not receive snowfall however lashed by the rainfall.
48 mm rainfall recorded at Chamba, Kheri 42 mm, Saloni 41 mm, Dalhousie 34 mm and Bharmaur 20 mm respectively. In Kullu district Manali got 24 mm rain, Seobagh 22 mm, Bajaura and Aghar 14 mm each, Nagrota Suriyan 25 mm, Dharamhsala 13 mm, Palampur 12 mm, Bangana and Gaggal 11 mm each. In Mandi Joginder nagar 20 mm, Baldwara 11 mm and Sunderngar 10 mm, Naina Devi in Bilaspur 16 mm and Jhandutta 13 mm, Kotkhai got 15 mm rain, Jubbal 14 mm, Rohru 11 mm and Hamirpur 10 mm respectively.
It was overcast today and toruist resort Kufri and Narakanda got light flakes of snowfall in the afternoon. However it remained mainly dry in rest of the day. The minimum temperature of Keylong was at minus three degrees, Kalpa minus 1.8 degrees, Shimla 3. 7 degrees, Chamba 5.5 degrees, Palampur 6.7 degrees, Kangra 7.6 degrees, Dharmshala 8.2 degrees, Solan 8.8 degrees, Sundernagar 9 degrees, Bilaspur, Una and Hamirpur 10 degrees each.
The Met office forecast rain or snow at isolated parts of mid and high reaches and mainly dry weather in the rest of the State.
