Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal today termed Union Budget for year 2017-18 as balanced and development oriented. Reacting over the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Mr. Dhumal said that it is dreaming budget for farmers, horticulturists, youth, woman, middle class, Dalits, deprived and suppressed classes.
He said that without increasing fiscal deficits number of revolutionary steps have been taken in the budget which would strengthen economic stability with increase pace of development. Mr. Dhumal hoped that increasing investment for infrastructure would help to bring down the poverty with robust economic growth. He said that Mr Jateily has given special emphasis on the priority areas like social welfare, agriculture, woman empowerment, health, MNREGA and skill development.
He said that service class likely to get respite from the high income tax rate as union budget not only to increase the slabs by 50 thousands but also reduce the income tax rate from 10 to five percent. Mr. Dhumal said that union budget move to promote digitalization in the country and banning above three lakh cash transaction and capping political cash capping to Rs 2000 are landmark steps toward bring economic transparency. The budget would give boost to the rural economy by taking measure to increase the income of farmers besides the increasing MNREGA central funding in the country, he added.
