Himachal Pradesh recorded light rainfall and mild snowfall in the high reaches increasing the cold waves in the tribal areas however it was mainly dry and sunny in the rest of the State and was slight increase in the temperature. In Kinnaur district Kalpa got one centimetre the high reaches of Kinnaur got mild to light snowfall. In Shimla Khadrala got two mm rainfall.
Keylong in Lahaul Spiti was coldest at minus 8.6 degrees and down by ten degrees, Kalpa and tourist resort Manali at minus 1.6 degrees, Bhuntar 3 degrees, Sundernagar and Solan was low at 4 degrees each, Mandi, Palampur and Shimla 5 degrees each, Chamba 4.7 degrees, Kangra 5.8 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur and Dharamshala 7.4 degrees each, Una 7.6 degrees, Bilaspur 7.9 degrees and Hamirpur eight degrees respectively.
For last three days no helicopter service were operating to snowbound Lahaul Spiti district as the waiting list for seeking emergency flights piled to 275, Liaison Officer of the State Government Yog Raj Chauhan told Himvani. People got respite from the cold waves in the district as power supply to the tribal district was restored after one week today. The Met Office forecast mainly dry weather in the State during the next 24 hours.
