State pays tribute on 69th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

    Himachal Pradesh paid tribute on the occasion of 69th death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi as various floral tributes programs and brief silence programs were organised in the hill State today. HP Chief Minister Mr. Virbhadra Singh, Local member of Assembly Mr. Nand Lal and Deputy Mayor of Shimla Mr. Tekinder Singh Panwer along with large number of others citizens offered floral tributes and observed silence before Mahatma Gandhi historic statute at Ridge ground in Shimla this morning.

     

    The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee also held tributes function at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan at State party Office in Shimla where former MLA Mr. Harbhajan Singh Bhaji and other party activists paid the tributes and offered flowers on the Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. The State Council for Science, Technology & Environment, H.P. Shimla staff gathered in conference hall and observed silence at 11am for 2 minutes in the memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s freedom.

     

    Similar programs were held in other parts of the State where large number of people, students and people from public lives took oath of following the non-violence path shown by Mahatma Gandhi.
