Snow and rainfall in parts of Himachal

Light snowfall and rain lashed in few parts of Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours however, it gave respite from extreme cold waves as the day temperature marginally increased in the State. The Met office recorded six centimeter snowfall at Kalpa in Kinnuar district and Khadrala of Shimla four cm. Kinnar Kailash ranges and high reaches of Shimla got light spell of snowfall.

 

Tourist resort Dalhousie got 15 mm rainfall, Joginder nagar 6 mm, Dharampur in Solan 3 mm and Tourist resort Kasauli 2 mm. In Lahaul Spiti district night temperature again plunged by several degrees as Keylong was low at minus 9.4 degrees, Kalpa minus 4 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur minus 3.8 degrees, Chamba 1.4 degrees, Solan 2.4 degrees and Shimla 2.9 degrees. Mandi was low at 3.8 degrees, Palampur in Kangra 4 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu 4.5 degrees, Sundernagar 5.6 degrees, Nahan in Sirmour and Kangra 6.4 degrees each, Dharmshala 7.2 degrees and Una 7.7 degrees, Bilaspur 9.2 degrees and Hamirpur 9.4 degrees respectively.

 

The maximum temperature of  Kalpa was recorded as 3 degrees, Dharamshala 13.2 degrees, Shimla 13.6 degrees, Nahan 15 degrees, Bhuntar 18 degrees, Solan 18.5 degrees, Sundernagar 19.2 degrees and Una 23.4 degrees respectively. The Met office forecast that rain or snowfall likely to occur at isolated places in the next 24 hours in the high reaches however it would be mainly dry in rest of the State.
