Himachal Pradesh Government today announced free houses to 24 BPL and completely fire affected families at Tanganu village under Chargaon subdivision of Shimla district. The Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rohan Thakur who visited the fire affected Tanganu village today announced that the State has decided to distribute 24 new houses under Chief Minister and Rajiv Awass Yojana to cover the families that are homeless and fall below poverty line.
He announced Rs 31.20 lac to reconstruct the new houses and distributed Rs 5000 for each affected family. He said that the State would also provide free text and note books for one year to the wards of affected household. Mr. Thakur also sanctioned reconstruction of two community toilets in the village. He ordered the officers to sort out the grievances of the affected and homeless villagers in the bone chilling cold of winter. He listened the grievances and weather vagaries of the people and directed the top brass of district administration and member of local Gram Panchayat were accompany to take stock of the loss and problem faced by the victims.
On Jan 16 as many as hundred wooden houses gutted into the fire rendering 46 household homeless as belongings of the people, their pets, 36 cattle and their others livestock were charred to death in the devastation. The fire broke out in the intervening night Jan 15 and 16 when all snow bound thickly populated villagers were in deep sleep.
