Tourists resort Shimla, Manali, Kufri and Narkanda get heavy snowfall

There are report of more snowfall and rain in the State as tourist resorts Shimla, Manali, Kufri, Mashorba and Narkanda got heavy snowfall increasing the cold waves and plummeting the mercury in the day today.

 

Tourist resort Manali recorded 54 centimeter snowfall in last 24 hrs till this afternoon, Kalpa in Kinnaur recorded 21 cm, Shimla 16 cm, Mashorba 18.5 cm, Met office said. The maximum temperature plummeted in the State as Kalpa was recorded minus 1.4 degree Celsius in the day, Manali was high at 3 degrees and Shimla was high at 7 degrees. Solan was recorded maximum at 12 degrees recorded 3 mm, Dharamshala 12.4 degrees, Bhuntar 10 degrees, Nahan and Sundernagar 14 degrees each, Kangra 16 degrees and Una 18 degrees respectively.

 

It was mainly dry in the afternoon with light cloud in the sky. The Met office forecast rain or snowfall at few places in the high reaches and mid hills and rain and thunder showers in the foot hills. The minimum temperature is expected to come down with more snowfall in the high reaches in the State.
